Discover the charm of its Old Quarter, originally built during the reign of Abdullah bin Rashid in 1895, and wander through the lively Dirah Souq — famous for its rich array of colorful fabrics, elegant silks, and fine pashminas.
Day 3: A Historical Tour of Diriyadh
After breakfast, Just outside Riyadh lies Diriyah, a UNESCO World Heritage site and the birthplace of the first Saudi state. Now home to the royal family, this historic city was once protected by mud-brick walls that enclosed a vibrant center of culture and trade. In 1745, it became the capital of the emerging Saudi state, setting the stage for the unification of modern Saudi Arabia.
Day 4: AlUla, Saudi Arabia – Old Town AlUla
A timeless escape to ‘Saudi’s Petra’
After breakfast, Tucked away in the heart of the desert, AlUla is an ancient oasis — a golden landscape etched with the stories of Arabia’s past. Millennia before the rise of Islam, traders once passed through this valley bearing incense and myrrh. Today, their legacy lives on in the timeless relics, monumental tombs, and majestic ruins that adorn the sands — a breathtaking setting for desert exploration and the soft glow of luxury campfires beneath the stars.
Travel back through the ages as you explore the ancient lanes of AlUla’s Old Town — a timeless desert settlement nestled in a dramatic valley once closed to the outside world. Once a key stop for traders and pilgrims, it now stands as a living museum of Saudi heritage. Stroll through its charming squares, browse traditional shops, and admire the surviving stone and mudbrick structures that whisper stories of centuries past.
Day 5: Uncover the secrets of Hegra & Marvel at Elephant Rock
Explore the secrets of AlUla’s most renowned archaeological treasure with a private guide by your side. Once closed to the public for generations, Hegra — founded by the Nabataeans in the first century BC — stands as a masterpiece of ancient craftsmanship. During this captivating tour, your guide will bring the site’s rich history to life, unveiling the stories behind its majestic tombs and helping you interpret the detailed carvings etched into the golden sandstone cliffs.
Visit the awe-inspiring Elephant Rock, one of AlUla’s most remarkable natural formations. Carved by wind and water over millions of years, this towering red sandstone giant resembles an elephant with its distinctive “trunk” and “body.” As the sun dips below the horizon, watch the rocks glow in warm hues while you unwind with light snacks and a refreshing mocktail.
Day 6: Add to Wishlist
(optional not included) Exploring Dadan and Jabal Ikmah
Immerse yourself in AlUla’s ancient past with a journey to Dadan, the former capital of the Lihyanite and Dadanite kingdoms dating back to the 9th and 8th centuries BC. Discover tombs hewn into the striking red cliffs, including the iconic Lion Tombs — distinguished by the carved lion figures that once guarded the resting places of nobles. Continue to nearby Jabal Ikmah, often called AlUla’s “open-air library,” where thousands of inscriptions, rock carvings, and petroglyphs reveal stories of Saudi Arabia’s earliest civilizations.
Day 7: Jeddah, Saudi Arabia – Historical Tour of Jeddah
Cultural tales on the coast
Embracing the shores of the Red Sea, Jeddah stands apart from the desert landscapes that define much of Saudi Arabia. For centuries, merchants, pilgrims, and sailors have passed through this vibrant port city on their way to nearby Makkah (Mecca), leaving behind traces of their cultures and stories. In Al-Balad, Jeddah’s historic heart, bustling souks echo with the rhythm of trade beneath the intricate wooden mashrabiyya balconies that adorn centuries-old homes. Along the scenic Corniche, palm trees sway beside the sea, where coral-filled waters shimmer — home to some of the finest diving spots in the world.
Begin your Jeddah journey in the historic district of Al-Balad, where centuries-old Ottoman houses built from coral stones and wooden beams still stand proudly — including the elegant Nasif House, once home to one of the city’s most prominent trading families. Continue along the scenic Corniche to explore its open-air museum, showcasing striking contemporary sculptures, before visiting the iconic “floating mosque” and witnessing King Fahd’s Fountain — the world’s tallest, sending jets of Red Sea water soaring 300 meters into the sky.
